Staff news: Ph.D. Completed

Fireseeds North staff Craig Milligan, P.Eng. completed his Ph.D. Final Oral Defense on December 5th, 2014. His thesis was entitled "Risk Analysis of Performance Measure Forecasts in Road Safety Engineering" and contained research that he has published together with colleagues in the top road safety journals in the world.

Craig is thankful for a huge amount of support from his advisor, Jeannette Montufar, P.Eng., former colleagues at the University of Manitoba Transport Information Group, his advisory committee, and his external examiner Dr. Eric Hildebrand from University of New Brunswick.

Topics in the thesis ranged from redefining our understanding of uncertainty in pedestrian exposure estimates all the way to redefining the methods the World Bank uses for evaluating the economic benefits of road safety investments.
