FNI to Present on Using UAV Data Collection for VBCA at the 2017 TAC Fall Conference

FNI's Mark Hearson will present on the application of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) data collection for video-based conflict analysis (VBCA) at the 2017 TAC Conference in St. John's. The presentation is part of a panel discussion on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, organized by the TAC Road Safety Standing Committee. Panelists will discuss a number of topics relating to UAV use in transportation engineering, including equipment selection, the current regulatory framework, safe operating procedures, applying for your first Special Flight Operator's Certificate (SFOC), and multiple case studies.

Mark's presentation will provide a case study of the use of UAV data collection for VBCA, including UAV selection, UAV positioning, tethering options, video stabilization requirements, data processing, and road safety outputs.
